Getting Published!

Below is the poem that my school’s literary magazine, Inkstone, chose for publication this semester.

Dawn on Me

Celina McManus

will you take time to

say hello

to apples in the

ocean:

simple mysteries

of the sea?

clocks –

a song and a painting

dripping

into creased palms

of every watchman

in the orchard

bring me baskets

for the patient

and build me

ladders

for the blind

if you’re neither

and you slumber

find wood and

nails and I wish

you safe travels

as you sail away

why are you so

afraid

of something I

created pure

and clear (like ink)

for you?
